It took me three hours to go to his concert while his whole show lasted 1 hour 30 minutes.
Welcome to hell that is Manila traffic!
Buti na lang David Archuleta planned a very well-paced show, dividing it into three distinct parts - the first part was his new material from his new album, which segued into his past hits and ended with some OPM songs he recorded plus his biggest hits.
David can learn a thing or two from this year's Tony winner for Best Actor - Musical, Ben Platt - who can sing while he's crying.
That's because, David became a bit emotional when he sang some of his songs, especially the OPM ones which the audience loved very much - so much so that he would stop singing - lest his voice would croak from emotion.
Apparently, there is a technique to singing while crying - and Ben said it has to do with breathing properly.
Anyhow, this was the second time I saw David live and he sounds just as great as the first time. I also love his new material that's why I decided to watch at the last minute.
His current material though is very introspective, bordering almost on Christian gospel music - and he's a Mormon. Nevertheless, different name of God, same God we all worship.
I don't know how America will receive his new album but he can be counted on to have some really solid Pinoy fans which I saw firsthand tonight.
He should continue his musical journey because not only has he the voice, but I think there is a positive message that he can convey through his music.
