Kelly Clarkson and Vince Gill become the second duet to top my personal countdown this year with their song Don't Rush.  Earlier this year, Gotye and Kimbra hit #1 with Somebody I Used to Know.   This week, the song jumps from #10 to #1.

Grammy Love For Frank Ocean

Of all the nominees for the 2013 Grammy Awards, I am most excited for Frank Ocean, who along with fun. snared the most nominations including Album and Record of the Year!  I loved this song first time I heard it - I was just mesmerized by its very deliberate hypnotic beat and of course, the wonderful voice of Mr. Ocean. I first learned about him since he came out - well, he admitted to sleeping with men - which was a big no-no for black men who are in the public eye - I mean for them to come out in public.  I guess the Grammy voters couldn't care less who he sleeps with.  I found out later on that even Justin Bieber and Will Smith's kids covered this song!!

Awesome by Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago is just the third gospel song to top my personal countdown.

Foster the People Foist Helena Beat into the Top of My Personal Countdown

Last year, Foster the People's Pumped Up Kicks was one of the biggest songs in my personal countdown.  I think it even ended in the top 10 of my year end list!

This year, they return to the top with Helena Beat, from their album Torches.  This was due mainly to their energetic show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last weekend.
