Mychael Danna's Life of Pi: #GoldenGlobes 2013 Best Original Score

I was very happy when Mychael Danna won this year's Golden Globe award for Best Original Score!!  His score was really part and parcel of the movie and I was really rooting for him to win in that very competitive category!  

 

Golden Globes 2013 Best Original Score Nominees: Lincoln

You just have to hand it to John Williams to come up with the perfect soundtrack for any type of movie given to him.  Last year, I was impressed with what he did for War Horse.  This time, the Golden Globe voters has given him another nomination for Lincoln - and the soundtrack sounds stately, respectful, a bit forlorn but dignified - just what you want for a movie about a very distinguished man.

Golden Globes 2013 Best Original Score Nominees: Cloud Atlas

Too bad I missed the theatrical release of Cloud Atlas here in Manila.  Anyway, the soundtrack by Tom Twyker, Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil has gotten a nod for Best Original Score from the Golden Globe voters. I am listening to the Cloud Atlas finale track and it's beautiful.

Golden Globes 2013 Best Original Score Nominees: Anna Karenina

I hope they show Anna Karenina here in Manila.  Anyway, maybe I should get around at reading the book again before its theatrical release here.  The movie gets a nod for Best Original Score from the Golden Globe voters.  I haven't heard of Dario Marianelli yet but his work here is sumptuous!

I know Alexandre Desplat and I've heard his previous work, so I am not surprised that the Golden Globe voters have chosen him again as one of the nominees for Best Original Score, this time for the Ben Affleck thriller Argo.

Golden Globes 2013 Best Original Score Nominees: Life of Pi

This is the first time I've heard of Mychael Hanna and he does a fantastic job for the score of the Life of Pi.  I am listening to Pi's Lullaby and it's very enchanting!
