2nd MyFABE Awit Awards: Pop Song of the Year

Four solo artists and a band contribute to the MyFABE Awit Awards Pop Song of the Year.  The nominees are -

And the OPM Pop Song of the Year award goes to.....Daryl Leong for Sa Muling Pagtatagpo.  This is Daryl's second MFM OPM award.

This is Daryl Leong's first MFM OPM award.

My Favorite OPM Songs of 2011: #2 Daryl Leong - Sa Muling Pagtatagpo

 

 As the credits for the movie, Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me, was rolling up, this song comes into play, and I immediately took notice of how great it sounded!  I tried my best to remember the lyrics since I wanted to search for it online.  I really thought Edgar Allan Guzman sang it but I discovered later it was Daryl Leong.  It's really a pity the song hasn't garnered much radio play but it has a very loyal Internet following.  I am not even sure if that is Daryl Leong in the picture!  I just based it on what Google gave me hahha!!

Tragedy is, the song is not even in Youtube!  I found it in a Tumblr account of a fan of the movie so I will post the link here so you can hear the song from there - http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/sa+muling+pagtatagpo - it's definitely one of the best written songs of 2011 - and best sung too!  Bravo Daryl!!

My Favorite Soundtrack Song This Year: Daryl Leong - Sa Muling Pagtatagpo

Finally, someone posted a video of the song in Youtube.  Thank God!.

This song gets played in the end credits of Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me and I just love it - it's a fitting song to describe the last scene of the movie - or even the movie as a whole.  This guy, Daryl Leong, has a really fine, masculine voice!  

It's such a waste really that this song hasn't gotten any airplay.  It's better than many of the local remake songs that always populates the local charts.  Hmmm....I just might vote for it for the OPM Myx Countdown to force those guys to play it.   Let's see! It doesn't even have a video yet!
