T-Pain's second UK Top 10 hit, 5'O Clock, his collaboration with Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen slips to #10 this week after debuting at #6.  In 2007, Low, his collaboration with Flo Rida, peaked at #2.

J. Cole Gets First Number 1 Album

J. Cole sells 217,000 copies of his album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, making it debut at #1 in the US this week.  It's been sometime now that a solo artist had a debut album at #1 so it's great the J. Cole has built up his popularity base slowly but surely to come out with a bang!

Lil Wayne: Dedication to My Ex

Lil Wayne's first UK Top 10 hit, Dedication to My Ex, is his collaboration with Lloyd and Andre 3000.  This week, the song slips to #6.  It has peaked at #3.

B.o.B.'s New Song Debuts in US Top 10 Charts

B.o.B.'s new song, a collaboration with Lil Wayne, becomes his fourth top 10 hit in the US.  The song, Strange Clouds, debuts at #7 in the US Top 10 Singles Charts.  It's the first release from his latest album of the same title.

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter 4: His Third #1 Album in the US

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV is his third #1 album in the US, after Tha Carter III and I Am Not A Human Being.  It's also his ninth Top 10 album, two of them, his collaborations with Birdman and Young Money.  His first Top 10 album was Tha Block is Hot in 1999.  It peaked at #3.

Kanye West: Niggas in Paris with Jay-z

Like Jay-z, Kanye West also has an enviable string of consecutive #1 albums, showing how solid the fan base is of rap and hip hop music.  In an earlier article I wrote, even the rapper, The Game, who is not really a household name worldwide, has three #1 albums in the US.

The Game's Biggest Hit to Date: Hate It or Love It

The performance of The Game's albums is quite enviable but he is not very well-known for his singles performance. He has had only three top 10 songs, "How We Do", which peaked at #4 in 2004, "A Bay Bay" which hit #7 in 2007, and this one, Hate It or Love It, his collaboration with 50 Cent, which peaked at #2 - thus becoming his biggest hit to date.

New Music This Week: Lil Wayne's Blunt Blowin'

Lil Wayne has continuously been releasing songs from his latest album, Tha Carter IV.  He already has two top 10 hits from it - She Will, his collaboration with Drake, peaked at #3, while How to Love, hit #5.  This week, two songs from that album have reached Top 40 territory, Blunt Blowin' at #33, and Mirror, his collaboration with Bruno Mars, debuted in the Top 20.

Lil Wayne's How To Love Reaches Top 5 Territory in the US

Interestingly, Lil Wayne has never had a UK Top 10 hit, till this week!  His collaboration with Jennifer Lopez, I'm Into You, moves 3 places into #10 this week.

My 50 Cent Top 5: #1 "In Da Club"

I was already a big Eminem fan when this song was released so seeing Eminem in the video and knowing that he had a hand in this song just bolstered my interest in 50 Cent. It also helped that this song had that "It's your birthday" line - which was ubiquitously used when the song was very popular.

My 50 Cent Top 5: #2 "Candy Shop"

Well, the lyrics of this song is really racy but still the groove is really good! Candy Shop is my second most favorite 50 Cent hit.

My 50 Cent Top 5: #3 "P.I.M.P."

P.I.M.P. is my #3 most favorite 50 Cent song. I love how he incorporated that West Indies drum giving this song a Carribean flavor. And with Snoop Dogg in the mix, well, just makes the groove pretty exciting!

My 50 Cent Top 5: #4 "Disco Inferno"

Well, this song is one of my favorites in the Les Mills Body Jam program. The song was segued well with the other songs (I forget now which songs it was grouped into but I remember Jennifer Lopez's Get It Right among them). I also remember the dance steps clearly since it involves a lot of, you guessed it, ass shaking! This is my #4 most favorite 50 Cent song. It really is a song which you can groove to!

My 50 Cent Top 5: #5 "Baby By Me" (with Ne-Yo)

Rap really isn't the music that most gay men listen to but I have a soft spot for 50 Cent since I really liked his first hit song, In Da Club. I even bought his first two CD's! Imagine a 50 Cent CD beside Madonna and Kylie Minogue!

Anyhow, while I was browsing through 50 Cent's discography, I was surprised how many hit songs he had! He does have a distinct dance vibe! Well, at #5 of my most favorite 50 Cent hits is his collaboration with Ne-Yo who also stamps his own cool sound to the Cent's hard rapping style.
