The Cost of Coldplay Concert Tickets 10 Years Ago: Do the Math!

I think the hullaballoo about how expensive the Coldplay tickets is justified.
I unearthed these tickets in one of our old albums and when we watched the band in HK ten years ago, we had to shell out HK$580 per ticket and at PhP7.50 per HK$, that would be around PhP4,350++service fee etc.
And we were somewhere in the middle. The most expensive ticket was HK$780 (PhP5,850).
Adjust that for inflation and that people just download their music illegally nowadays that's why it is only through live shows that musician's earn - I'm sure Coldplay's live talent fee has also skyrocketed.
At that time, X&Y was Coldplay's latest album and Fix You was the arena anthem everyone was aching to sing along to.
And sing along we did, as Chris Martin allowed the audience to sing the last verse. Definitely a goosebump moment!
I loved their 2002 album A Rush of Blood to the Head as well, so I was rooting for The Scientist and Clocks.
The band was also very hot at that time, because they just won the prestigious Grammy Record of the Year for Clocks.
The Speed of Sound was the last Coldplay hit I liked and they again went to HK in 2009 for another show.
As usual, last na naman ang Pinas, pero better late than never. I haven't quite warmed up to their latest album because they're playing disco music, but I checked their concert setlist and it's quite solid.
Kumpleto, may The Scientist, Clocks, Viva La Vida, Paradise, Fix You - so should be worth the 22k for those who are shelling out that much.
