My Weekly Top 10 (April 1, 2016) #1 Indigo Girls - We Get to Feel It All

The Indigo Girls get their seventh #1 hit in my personal countdown, as We Get to Feel It All, moves up to the top spot this week.  

This song also extends the chart span of these ladies to 26 years, as they had their very first top 10 hit in 1990.

My Weekly Top 10 (January 22, 2016) #1 Indigo Girls - Share the Moon

Their last top 10 hit was their #1 song Leeds way back in 1997.  I was able to buy their latest CD and because of it, they have returned to My Weekly Top 10 countdown, after an absence of almost 18 years!  This week, their song, Share the Moon, becomes their sixth #1 in my personal countdown.

Revisiting the Indigo Girls - It's Alright

"It's alright if you hate that way, hate me cause I'm different, hate me cause I'm gay." When I first heard this song, I was struck by its courage and defiance. I am gay also but I'm sure it was harder for them, since here in the Philippines, gay men are more tolerated. Of course, it doesn't mean it makes it any easier. In the end, you'd have to really stand for who you are, and because of their honesty and bravery, I was more set to live a gay life, than a life of pretend.

Revisiting the Indigo Girls - Get Out the Map

This is another one of my favorite songs from their Shaming of the Sun album. This video was taken in 2008! I'm so glad they still sound so great even after all these years! I love singing to "I'm gonna clear my head I'm gonna drink that sun I'm gonna love you good and strong while our love is good and young."

I don't think they'd go this part of Asia but it would be cool if they can travel to this part of the world. I wish I were a billionaire. I would fly them over here and have a show here in Manila.

Revisiting the Indigo Girls - Leeds

I was in college when I learned about the Indigo Girls and I have since been their fan! In 1997, two years after I graduated from college, they released 'Shaming of the Sun' which is now one of my favorite albums. This song comes from that album. My favorite line from the song is this -
"Whatever this madness is in me spinning like a top on a bed of anxiety over a deep dark brown down into nothingness into withoutyouness. I love the spare arrangement and Emily's beautiful vocals!
