Two Breakout Artists Top the 2017 My FABE Music OPM Awit Award Nominations

Teenage heartthrob Julian Trono and Visayan singer -songwriter Jewel Villaflores each got eight nominations, to top this year's My FABE Music OPM Awit Award nominations.

Julian was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Vocal Collaboration of the Year, three of the top awards, while Jewel Villaflores got Record of the Year (for Duyog) and Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Other big nominees this year are indie dance act No Rome with seven nominations, urban dance act Mobbstarr with six while Jacqueline Chang, Autotelic, Quest and The Juans got five.

Winners will be announced on December 25 Christmas Day.

Jacqueline Chang has two hits in My OPM Top 10 countdown.  One of them went all the way to #1.

2017 - Worth It ang Tanan (with Kurt Fick) (#5)

These songs are currently at My OPM Top 10 countdown at the same time.  Worth It ang Tanan, her collaboration with Kurt Fick, moves up to #5 while Pero Atik Ra moves up to the top spot.

Here are my ten favorite OPM songs for the week ending August 11, 2017.

Jacqueline Chang's 'Pero Atik Ra' becomes the fourth Visayan song to top My OPM Top 10 this year, and the onslaught is not going to stop soon.  I won't be surprised if some of these songs get nominated in the FABEMusic OPM Awards for 2017.

It's also her first #1 hit in this countdown.

She also has two songs in the top 5 this week, a rare feat for any OPM artist.
