Barbra Streisand had her first Top 10 album in 1963, when The Barbra Streisand Album, peaked at #8. Last week, her album, What Matters Most, hits #4 in the US charts, an incredible stretch of forty nine years between her first Top 10 album and her latest - and she has had at least one Top 10 album in the past SIX decades!
I'm sure Barbra's Streisand's longevity in the music business is something that would be hard to duplicate among pop music's current biggest names. To put it in perspective, Justin Bieber has to have a Top 10 album in 2058, when he would be in his sprightly age - of 64! Or what crazy outfit would Lady Gaga be wearing, when she releases her Top 10 album in 2056 - when she's 70!! Phew!!
