Donna Summer: Last Transatlantic Hit

Donna Summer virtually ruled the music charts in the late 70s at the peak of the disco era.  However, her 80s output was a bit intermittent but she had a career resurgence in 1989, with the help of the production team of Stock, Aitken and Waterman.

I was already in college when this song became a hit.  I was very happy that I was already chartwatching actively during this time, so at least, even during the twilight of her career, I was able to actively watch the some of the musical legacy of the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer.

This song was my actual introduction to the music of Donna Summer, may she RIP - and yes, it came out the same year Michael Jackson's hits from the Thriller album was lording it over the airwaves and Madonna was just starting out her tremendous career with Borderline. 1983 was a fantastic year to be a teenager since it was a flux between the future legends and the then legends at that time. By this time, Donna Summer was already acknowledged as the Queen of Disco.
