Folk, country and pop singer Judy Collins sings this song called 'Gauguin' after Paul Gauguin, the French painter who went to Tahiti. However, the song is very captivating because it talks more about finding happiness.
I discovered Judy Collins after she sang a song for one of the episodes of the HBO series Girls. Because of that, I bought her album Paradise, released in 2011. However, I only listened to it this year. Aside from Gauguin, two of her other songs from the album also became listening staples for me this year - Kingdom Come and Weight of the World.
