Concert Review: Naked Eyes' Always Something There to Remind Me

Thanks to Raffy, my Body Jam buddy, I was able to see the Naked Eyes concert last night at the Solaire Casino and Resort Hotel. Unfortunately, Wang Chung couldn't make it since the wife of the guitarist was sick and they couldn't make the trip. So it was just Naked Eyes last night and a host of local bands and DJs.

Well, if you were in high school in the 80s, it would be impossible for you not to know their song, Always Something There to Remind Me. It was such a huge hit for them that even now, if there is an 80s shindig, this song will most likely be played!

Interestingly, the band played songs from their first album, and way back in 1983, I think my sister bought their cassette tape, so I was pretty familiar with most of the songs they played last night! It was like a rush of memories for me as they sang those old songs - like welcoming long lost friends - and the funny thing was, I could still remember some of the lyrics! Kasi naman sa tape, you'd have to rewind so one really had to listen to the whole album, before your favorite song comes along.

I definitely had fun and I guess most of the 80s "kids" beside me were just reliving their days of youth! Actually, para syang private party, hindi concert, because JCI Manila sponsored it so it was kinda like their affair, tapos guest lang ang Naked Eyes!
