MY TEN FAVORITE SONGS OF 2016: #10 Selena Gomez - Survivors

The second Selena Gomez song in my year-end countdown comes in at #9.  There were several radio-friendly hits from her 'Revival' album, but my most favorite of her songs was this relatively unknown track called 'Survivors'.

For some weird reason, I dream of men in drag dancing to this song and vamping it up onstage.  'We are survivors of the wild!' seem to be the line that they are singing as they sashay down the stage. Interesting dream, considering Selena is not really a gay icon yet.

Happily for me, she also sang it in her Revival concert here in Manila!

MY TEN FAVORITE SONGS OF 2016: #10 Charlie Puth / Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore

I thought I'd never see the day where Selena Gomez has two songs in my year-end top 10, and with former lover, Justin Bieber with three! So strange things can happen in life.

Well, I first heard this song on a drive from the SSS to my home - and I was immediately hooked.  I did not pay much attention to Charlie Puth's album, till this song.  Too bad I wasn't able to see him live because the concert producers decided he wasn't famous enough to fill up the MOA Arena or Araneta Coliseum.

How very wrong they were!!

Concert Review: Selena Gomez Manila Revival Tour

Selena Gomez now becomes the latest artist where I had to accompany Laura so she could watch the show.

I had to listen to Selena's Revival album the whole of Saturday para naman I would enjoy her music and her show last night.

She does have a very solid album and she sang two of the songs I like there - Survivors and Me and the Rhythm. She has a ballad called Camouflage but it was not on the setlist.

She also deviated from the setlist a bit - playing her hit - Love You Like A Song instead.

Well, I don't know if it were the acoustics of MOA Arena or she does not really have a big voice. Vic can barely understand what she was singing about.

However, since I already knew her setlist, I knew which songs to enjoying and at what part she was going to do it.

We arrived at the MOA Arena around 8:40PM and there were still a lot of people milling outside waiting to enter.  We were taking our sweet time to get to our seats and took photos first because we know that after the show, it was going to be pandemonium!
