Moonstar88 Tops My OPM Countdown for the First Time

I have only learned now that Moonstar88 has been making music since 2001!  That's what I get for not listening to OPM for so long!  I've lost out on so much good music!  Anyway, better late than never, as they say.  Finally, this week, the band gets their very first #1 hit in my OPM countdown as Sembreak goes to #1.

I might have to buy na Angeline Quinto's second album since her first album, which I just listened to last December, has already produced two number 1 hits in just a month!  This week, Patuloy Ang Pangarap zooms to #1.  There are still some songs from her first album which has to chart, so let's just see what happens.

The Opera Belles Leads My OPM Top 10 This Week

 

 My OPM Top 10 countdown is on its fourth week and it has been a revolving door at the top, much like what happens in my weekly top 40 countdown of foreign songs.  

What's interesting about all the four acts that have topped my countdown is that it's their very first #1 song as well.  This week, the Opera Belles  get to the top with their pretty ballad, Dapat Tayo.

Abra Tops My OPM Countdown with His Rap Novelty Song

Novelty tops social consciousness this week, as Abra becomes the first rapper to tap my OPM countdown, with this novelty song Gayuma.  Gloc 9, whose rap songs have promoted social consciousness has yet to score a hit in my OPM personal countdown, especially now that it has its own chart already, separate from the foreign hits.
