The Opera Belles Leads My OPM Top 10 This Week

 

 My OPM Top 10 countdown is on its fourth week and it has been a revolving door at the top, much like what happens in my weekly top 40 countdown of foreign songs.  

What's interesting about all the four acts that have topped my countdown is that it's their very first #1 song as well.  This week, the Opera Belles  get to the top with their pretty ballad, Dapat Tayo.

Abra Tops My OPM Countdown with His Rap Novelty Song

Novelty tops social consciousness this week, as Abra becomes the first rapper to tap my OPM countdown, with this novelty song Gayuma.  Gloc 9, whose rap songs have promoted social consciousness has yet to score a hit in my OPM personal countdown, especially now that it has its own chart already, separate from the foreign hits.

Once in a while, I stray from the countdown and vote for songs that are not yet in it, so that it truly reflects what I am listening to right now.  It happens this week as Jurassic Pards and Giniling Festival have songs in my countdown which are not in the official OPM Myx Countdown.  I don't know how it affects the countdown though, if it does but I just go my way.

1.  Anja Aguilar - To Reach You (4 votes per day) - this is my current favorite among the fresh OPM songs.

2.  Ebe Dancel - Paalam Kahapon (3 votes per day) - another song which slowly but surely climbed up my personal hit list

New OPM Music This Week: Superkendi's Pogi

This is the first song that I've heard from Superkendi, another new band wanting to make its mark in OPM music. It's a cute and funny song which, in a way makes sense, especially in this looks obsessed world we live in!
