More popular as a member of the legendary Bee Gees band, Robin Gibb had a popular solo hit when I was still in grade school and it became a popular dance hit whenever we had soirees. It never charted in the US Top 40 but it was undoubtedly very popular in our little nook of a town up in the mountains of Cebu! RIP Robin Gibb.
Unfortunately, I was still a young boy of 7 or 8 when Saturday Night Fever became such a big hit. I remember seeing the movie but since I was too young to appreciate the music, the Gibbs didn't really become huge musical heroes for me. However, there is no doubt that their contribution to pop music is unforgettable. They shaped the disco music of the late 70s and surely influenced many artists of today with their unique sound and falsetto type of singing - which was very unique to Robin and his brothers!
