Sara Bareilles: Another Hit from Her Brilliant The Blessed Unrest Album

The first album I am listening to in 2015 is Sara Bareilles' The Blessed Unrest.  It's an old album already and since I'm backlogged already with all the Grammy nominees for Album of the Year, I decided for it to be the CD I'd be listening to this week.

And almost immediately, she gets her third top 10 song from that album as Chasing the Sun debuts at #9.  Both Brave and I Choose You went all the way to #1.

She now has four top 10 hits in my personal countdown.

Sam Smith Snags Third #1 Song in My Personal Countdown

Sam Smith has had a banner year in 2014.  He starts 2015 with a bang by getting his third #1 song from his album In the Lonely Hour.  Like I Can moves up this week to #1.

The Futuristic Polar Bears Puts EDM at the Top Spot

Two EDM acts get the top two spots in my personal countdown this week.  The Futuristic Polar Bears and R3hab and Deorro, get the #1 and the #2 slots in my personal countdown this week. EDM has definitely made its presence felt this year, thanks largely from the creative track lists of Les Mills Body Jam.

Ed Sheeran also has two top 10 hits in my personal countdown this week.  Afire Love is on its way to the top while Sing hangs out at #7.

Ronan Keating is no stranger to the top spot in my personal countdown.  In 2000, all four songs of his first solo album, Ronan, went all the way to #1, Life Is A Rollercoaster, Heal Me, Keep On Walking and When the World Was Mine .  Thirteen years later, my third pick from his latest album Fires, Love You and Leave You, moves to the top spot this week, making it his fifth #1 song as a solo singer.

A Rap Song Finally Tops My Personal Countdown This Year

Two rap songs topped my personal countdown in 2012, 212 by Azealia Banks and Gangnam Style by Psy.  The latter went on to become the biggest song in my personal countdown last year.  ASAP Rocky, Skrillex and Birdy Nam Nam finally each get their very first #1 hit in my personal countdown this week, as Wild For the Night, moves a notch to #1.
