My Weekly Top 10 May 29, 2015: #3 Kylie Minogue - Mr. President

I discovered this song by accident as it was performed by one of the drag queens in Bed Manila during their Kylie Minogue marathon two Fridays ago.  I wasn't able to buy the extended version of her last album, Kiss Me Once. but anyhow, the first time I heard this song, I fell in love with it already!  The drag queen who did this song also did a great job!

My Weekly Top 10: May 29, 2015 - #7 Kylie Minogue - Crystallize

Because I attended the Kylie Minogue marathon a few weeks ago in Bed Manila, I was able to discover two new songs from her.  The first one, Crystallize, moves up from #9 to #7 this week, marking her 24th top 10 hit in my personal countdown.

Beyonce's Mine Tops the FABE Weekly Top 10 This Week!

It's actually tougher to get a #1 song nowadays as the competition is fierce. So for Beyonce to come up with four #1 songs from her latest album is an incredible achievement. It also shows how impressed I am about the work she has done on her latest work.

It's also Beyonce's 22nd 31 song.  

Here are my ten favorite songs for the week ending July 4, 2014 -

#10 Vertical Horizon - Consolation (RE)

Vertical Horizon's song 'Frost' became their second 1 song this year.  They follow it up with this song, 'Consolation' which has already peaked at #3, the week Vertical Horizon was here in Manila.  It starts its chart run now at #10.



#9 Lady Gaga - Do What You Want (NEW) 

Lady Gaga returns to the FABE Weekly Top 10 countdown with her 25th hit, Do What You Want.  It was featured in the current Body Jam release that's why the song has charted.  It's also the fifth top 10 hit from Lady Gaga's Artpop.




#8 Christina Perri - Human (#9)

Christina Perri's Human moves a notch to #8. It's her second top 10 hit after A Thousand Years which reached #6 last year.




#7 Lady Gaga - Swine (#8)

Lady Gaga's Swine moves up a notch to #7. It's already her 24th top 10 hit in my personal countdown, and the fourth from her album Artpop.




#7 James Blunt - Face the Sun (RE)




James Blunt's Face the Sun stays at #7 for another week this week. It's his second top 10 hit from his latest album, Moon Landing.  Bonfire Heart peaked at #5 earlier this year.  This is his eleventh top 10 song in my personal countdown.


#5 Kylie Minogue - Into the Blue (#6)




Kylie Minogue's 23rd top 10 hit in my personal countdown, Into the Blue, moves up a rung to #5 this week, its new peak position. It's her first top 10 hit from her latest album Kiss Me Once.  



#4 Katy Perry - Birthday (#3)

Katy Perry's Birthday slips to #4 this week. It's also her 16th top 10 hit in my personal countdown and the second top 10 hit from her latest album Prism.

#3 Jennifer Lopez feat. French Montana - I Luh Ya Papi (#4)

Jennifer Lopez latest hit "I Luh Ya Papi" moves up a notch to #3 this week.  It's her fifteenth top 10 hit in my personal countdown.

It's her first top 10 hit as well from her tenth album, AKA.

It's also French Montana's first top 10 hit in my personal countdown.




#2 A Great Big World - I Really Want It (#5) The duo, A Great Big World's second top 10 hit in my personal countdown this week, I Really Want It, zooms from #5 to #2 this week.



#1 Beyonce - Mine (#2)





Beyonce's Mine becomes her 22nd #1 song. We danced to this song in my GForce class under Ishii and since I love the choreography so much, the song has just exploded in my personal countdown. It's already the fourth straight #1 hit from Beyonce's latest album.

#1 Vertical Horizon - Frost (#4)

The band Vertical Horizon gets their seventh #1 song in my personal countdown as Frost moves up from #4 to #1 this week. The band performed here in Manila a few weeks ago.  However, they did not perform this song.

Beyonce's 'Partition' Tops the FABE Weekly Top 10 Countdown This Week

Beyonce rules my countdown this week, as two songs from her latest album are in the top echelons.  Partition finally ascends to #1, making it the third straight #1 song from her latest album.  It's also her 21st #1 song all in all - and that is as a solo artist!  Amazing!

Also amazing is the ascension of Mine, which we danced in Ishii's GForce open class.  The song debuts high in this week's countdown.

Lady Gaga's Swine already peaked at #8 a few weeks back.  This week, it returns to the same peak position. It's already her 24th top 10 hit in my personal countdown, and the fourth from her album Artpop.

Beyonce's Partition was used during my brother's fashion show at SM North EDSA Skydome, and it's one of my most favorite songs from Beyonce's latest album.  It becomes her 21st #1 song and the third straight #1 song from her latest album.

Hillsong United's 'Oceans' Tops the FABE Weekly Top 10 Countdown

Due to their two sold out shows here in Manila last week, the contemporary Christian group Hillsong United tops the FABE Weekly Top 10 countdown.  It's their first song to top my personal countdown - and they join a distinguished list of contemporary Christian acts who have topped my personal countdown since the 80s - Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Kathy Troccoli, Jars of Clay and Switchfoot.

Since Vertical Horizon swept all the ten spots in my personal countdown last week, five songs reentered the top 10, with the Hillsong United song, Oceans as the only new entry.

2nd MyFABEMusic Awards: Album of the Year

Just like in the OPM category, I really haven't listened to many albums this year, but among those I have listened to, these are the five that I liked the most.  The nominees for the MyFABEMusic Album of the Year 2011 are -

Kylie Minogue Leads the Nominees for the MyFABEMusic Awards 2011

Australian pop superstar leads the nominees this year for the MyFABEMusic Awards with six nominations.  Actually, Kylie was nominated in four categories only, but since she had two nominations for Record and Pop song of the Year (Aphrodite and Get Outta My Way), she got six nominations. She was also nominated for Album of the Year and Pop Act of the Year.

R&B superstar Chris Brown busted down five nominations including Artist of the Year and R&B/Hip Hop/Rap Act of the Year.  He also got two nominations in the R&B/Hip Hop/Rap Song of the Year (Beautiful People and Yeah 3X).

Lady Gaga got four nominations, three of them from the top 3 categories - Artist, Record and Album.

Finally, Oscar, Grammy and Emmy winner Cher snagged three nominations mainly because of her Golden Globe winning song - You Haven't Seen the Last of Me from the movie Burlesque.  Australian reality TV show winner, Altiyan Childs also got three nominations, mainly in the rock category.

I'm not sure whether Kylie released Aphrodite as a single but it was one of my favorite songs from that album of the same title! I love its message of empowerment! It sits at #2 in my year-end favorites!

My Favorite Songs of 2011: #4 Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way

Kylie Minogue has two songs in the Top 5 this year, brought about mainly by her fantastic show here in Manila middle of this year. She released Aphrodite late 2010 but because of her live show, her CD got heavy rotation in my Ipod! This is one of my favorite songs from that album, a fact that was further bolstered when it became one of the station ID songs of that cable channel!

However, you will notice that none of the newly-written concert reviews have figured in the Top 10 - as yet.  I guess Google trawling really takes time.
