My #1 to #5 Favorite OPM Songs of 2012 (As of June 30, 2012)

The first six months of 2012 has come and it's time once again to list down my ten favorite OPM songs of the year (as of June 30, 2012).

This is the first of two parts, this one detailing my #1 to #5 favorite OPM songs, as yet, of 2012.
I have to advise you though that this is a running list and the song's position may change as 2012 progresses because new entries can come in.  Everything is subjective, really, and is just based on how much I really like (or liked) the song.

#1 Kamikazee - Halik

This song was a definite slow burn for me.  I didn't love it kaagad, but when I did, ayun, di ko na siya nabitawan.  I just love the lyrics and the intensity of how Jay sings the song!

#2 Pops Fernandez / Robin Nievera - Friends
It was the tailend of the Christmas season 2011 and I just bought a copy of Pops Fernandez's Silver album.  I listened to it through the week of New Year's 2012 and I discovered several gems from it.  This is my most favorite one - her duet with her son Robin Nievera, Friends

#3 Chris Cantada - Scarred

Another slow burn song - this one took almost two months languishing in my Ipod before I noticed how great it really was!  A gem of a pop song!

I love the album from which this song comes from.  I think it's the best work Christian has done ever since he started 10 years ago - I can say that because I've been a fan ever since he began his career!  His voice is earnest and clear, the songs, perfect for the age he's in!  He's blossoming into a true artist!

#5 Solenn Heusaff - It's Our First Time

Every year, there are songs which I call my guilty pleasures because they come from artists whom I wouldn't listen to normally, because they're fluffy or lightweight.  But all that is perception.  Yes, Solenn's music may be classified as fluffy or lightweight because that's exactly the image she's projecting!  She's not pretending to be like Cynthia Alexander or Asin.  Her foxy looks are just perfect for a sexy song like this - and Solenn does a fantastic job of breathing and heaving into this yeah, delightfully sinful song!

Tanya Markova and Solenn

In a clever song, which is not unusual anymore from Tanya Markova, the band's latest song, Da Facebook Song, tackles one of the common problems of Facebook EBs (eye balls).  You can easily guess it if you listen to the song.  Figure out too how the beautiful  Solenn Heusaff gets into the equation!

MyFABEMusic Weekly Top 10 - December 30, 2011

This week, OPM hits rule!  Pops Fernandez gets her first #1 song in my hit list in 22 years!  Her song 'Don't Say Goodbye' was a former #1 of mine way back in 1989.  This is her third #1 in my list, her first being Points of View, her duet with Joey Albert.

Newcomer Solenn Heusaff gets her first Top 10 hit in my list and this should be #1 next week.  I am really warming up to the song.

Pops has two hits in my list this week, By Heart is at #5.  Natasha Bedingfield is also a new entry with No Mozart, as well as Ed Sheeran's Lego House, which I am now slowly getting to notice.

#1 Pops Fernandez and Robin Nievera - Friends

This is the song that immediately caught my attention when I listened to Pops album last week.  It's a beautiful duet with her son Robin.

#2 Solenn Heusaff - It's Our First Time

This song by Solenn kinda grew on me - it's actually smooth and sexy the way she sings it!

#3 Beyonce - End of Time

I still love to this Beyonce song.  I love how rapid she sings on this one.

#4 Beyonce - I Miss You

A beautiful pensive song from Beyonce. A gem!

#5 Pops Fernandez - By Heart

This is the first song of Pops' album Silver.  She sounds like Amy Grant here.  Love it!

#6  Ed Sheeran - Lego House

This song kinda grew on me.  I love how passionately Ed sings the chorus!

#7 One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful

#8 Natasha Bedingfield - No Mozart

The first song that I immediately noticed from Natasha's Strip Me album.

#9 Katy Perry - The One That Got Away

#10  Lloyd and Andre 3000 - Dedication to My Ex

Now A Fan of Solenn Heusaff's Music

I haven't really followed Solenn Heusaff's career but I am familiar with her songs since I follow the OPM Myx Countdown.  Well, surprise, surprise, her latest single, It's Our First Time, is now my favorite song this week and it's at my #1 spot for my personal Top 10.  Frankly, her first single, Fire was also a guilty pleasure of mine.

Anyhow, I do hope she does some live shows so I can get to see her sing live!  Now, I'm thinking of getting a copy of her CD!
