At the back of my mind, I was waiting for Rihanna's character to burst into 'We Found Love' as the aliens batter her and her shipmates in the movie Battlefield. She does look believable though, in this role, and what's more, she also gets her ass whipped. I remember a scene where she vainly fires at an incoming alien who then throws her around like some paper doll. She's as tough as nails here too and it's good that she plays an important role - that she did not agree to be just some pretty eye candy in a ship. She is supposed to be a US Navy sailor after all! She also really deglamorized herself in this movie - no fancy make-up or hairdo so in a way, she was a bit unrecognizable. She certainly threw away that girlie look away here.
I think this movie is a good introduction for her to Hollywood people. I would like to see her in more movies too!
